JPG and JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and GIF. A phone photo in HEIC or HEIF is turned into a JPEG on the way in, because that is what the desk stores, and Save a PDF copy runs on that JPEG. A file over 10 MB is too big on Free and Standard. Pro allows 50 MB.

Several photos, one PDF

The first picture becomes a one-page PDF. Open that PDF with Edit this file, then add the other pictures, or other PDFs, as pages after the page you are looking at. Turn a page, move it, duplicate it, or delete it. Save writes a new file. The picture you started from stays where it was.

Then compare it or edit it

Two photos of a form can sit side by side. Comparing a scan with a draft is on compare scanned PDFs. To black out an account number, change a date, or highlight a total on the new PDF, open edit a PDF with AI. The edit shows on the page you are looking at.

Does the JPG stay sharp?

The PDF page is the picture. It is placed on a page sized to the image. The words are not retyped.

Can I convert a PNG or an iPhone photo?

Yes. PNG, WEBP, and GIF use the same Save a PDF copy action. An HEIC or HEIF photo is stored as a JPEG first, and the PDF is made from that.

Where does the new PDF go?

It opens on the desk beside the picture. When the picture is in a folder, the PDF is filed there too. You can download it.

Can several photos become one PDF?

Save a PDF copy of the first picture, open it with Edit this file, and add the other pictures as pages after the one on screen. You can reorder or delete pages before you save.
