The marks are the difference list

Compare checks the two files line by line and paints one of them. Red is text that differs. Green is a line only that file has. An orange tab is a line the other file has and this one lacks. The marks do not wait on the model. Swap which file is marked when you want the notes on the other PDF.

Each difference is one numbered row naming what changed. Click the row or the badge on the page and the desk moves there. Hide the marks with the eye control, or download a copy that includes them.

The report ranks what to read

After the marks exist, the model writes a short report from that list. It does not add a difference the line check did not find. The report says whether the two PDFs look like versions of the same document, then the few changes a person should check: an amount, a date, a party, an account.

Find gaps is the other pass. It looks for what is missing, incomplete, or in conflict, and marks a quote on the page when those words are there. Yellow is a gap, red is a conflict, blue is something to confirm.

Scans and Word files

A PDF with a text layer compares as text. A scanned page is a picture, and that comparison is on compare scanned PDFs. A .docx is turned into a PDF from its text first, then compared the same way. That path is compare a PDF and a Word document.

Overlaying two architectural drawings and flickering the pixels is a different job. This check is for wording, numbers, and lines that one file does not have.

Free to try, then a seat

There is nothing to sign up for first: open a file and use 5 free AI requests. To keep going, continue with Google and pick Standard at $9 /seat/month or Pro at $29 /seat/month. Until you sign in, your files stay in this browser; after, the files you save stay on your account. A report or an edit sends the pages it needs to OpenAI. The privacy page names what is stored.

Questions

How do I compare two PDFs?
Open the desk, upload both PDFs, and run Compare. One file receives the marks. The list beside it uses the same numbers, and clicking a row moves the desk to that line.
Does it highlight the differences?
Yes. Red means the text on that line differs. Green means the line is only in the marked file. An orange tab means the other file has lines this one lacks.
Can I compare PDFs online?
Yes. The desk runs in the browser. Files you keep are stored on the account, and a report sends the pages it needs to OpenAI.
How is this different from Acrobat Compare?
The marks stay on the PDF you uploaded, and the report only ranks differences the line check already found. A scanned page and a Word file can sit on the same desk.
