Edit a PDF with AI on the open page

You see the edit on the page
Edit shows one page at a time, with the chat beside it. On a PDF that has real text, the model quotes the printed words and the editor places the highlight, the strike, or the replacement on those words. On a scan or a photo, it measures the spot on the picture. A page can also be redrawn when marks and text cannot do the job, and that takes longer.
Each request is one undo. Ctrl+Z removes that step. The file you opened is unchanged until you save, and save always makes a new file: a PDF, or a JPG or PNG when the result is a single page.
The same tools, by hand
Select and move, add text, highlight, underline, strike through, box, draw or sign, black out, white out, and sticky notes. Highlight, underline, and strike snap to the words on a text PDF. Black out and white out are the tools that remove what was underneath when the page is saved. You can also turn pages, move them, duplicate them, delete them, or add pages from another PDF or picture.
A picture can become the PDF you edit
A JPG opens as a picture. Save a PDF copy when you want a one-page PDF of that picture, then edit either file. Comparing two versions, with marks for what changed, is a different pass: compare two PDFs. This editor changes one open file. It does not return a Word document with tracked changes.
Free to try, then a seat
There is nothing to sign up for first: open a file and use 5 free AI requests. To keep going, continue with Google and pick Standard at $9 /seat/month or Pro at $29 /seat/month. Until you sign in, your files stay in this browser; after, the files you save stay on your account. A report or an edit sends the pages it needs to OpenAI. The privacy page names what is stored.
Questions
- Does the page update while I watch?
- You stay on the open page. When the edit is ready, the marks or the new words are on that page. You do not download the file, edit it somewhere else, and upload it again.
- Can I undo an AI edit?
- Yes. Each request is one undo step. Ctrl+Z takes it back. Unsaved edits stay in this browser until you save or start over.
- Does black-out actually remove the words?
- On save, pages with black-out or white-out are written as pictures, so the covered words are gone. Other pages keep their text.
- Can I edit a scan or a JPG?
- Yes. Edit this file opens a PDF or a picture. On a text PDF the edit quotes the printed words. On a scan or photo the marks are placed on the picture, or the page can be redrawn.
